Description
Stainless Steel Union Female x Male – 316 Grade
Our 316 Stainless Steel Female x Male Unions are designed to provide a secure, detachable connection between male and female threaded pipes or fittings. Manufactured from high-quality 316 grade stainless steel, these unions offer excellent corrosion resistance, strength and durability for industrial, agricultural and commercial pipework applications.
Featuring a female BSP connection at one end and a male BSPT (British Standard Pipe Taper) connection at the other, these stainless steel unions provide a convenient solution for connecting threaded pipework while allowing easy disconnection for maintenance, inspection or replacement.
The three-piece union design incorporates a central union nut, allowing the connection to be separated and reassembled without rotating or dismantling the connected pipework.

BSP Thread Dimension Guide
BSP thread sizes are nominal and do not represent the actual physical diameter of the thread. The table below provides standard BSP thread major diameters in millimetres to assist with identifying the correct fitting size.
| BSP Thread Size | Major Diameter (mm) |
|---|---|
| 1/8" | 9.7 |
| 1/4" | 13.2 |
| 3/8" | 16.7 |
| 1/2" | 21.0 |
| 3/4" | 26.4 |
| 1" | 33.2 |
| 1 1/4" | 41.9 |
| 1 1/2" | 47.8 |
| 2" | 59.6 |
| 2 1/2" | 75.2 |
| 3" | 87.9 |
| 4" | 113.0 |
Important: The dimensions shown are standard BSP thread major diameters and are provided for reference. BSPT male threads are tapered, so the measured diameter varies along the thread. For female threaded connections, the values correspond to the nominal major diameter of the matching male thread rather than the internal bore of the union.
Installation Information
Ensure all mating threads are compatible, clean and correctly aligned before installation. Use a suitable thread sealant or PTFE tape where required for the threaded connections.
The central union nut allows the fitting to be disconnected without rotating the connected pipework. Ensure the union sealing faces are clean and correctly seated before tightening the union nut.
Please Note: Class 150 is a fitting pressure classification and does not mean a fixed maximum working pressure of 150 PSI. Actual working pressure depends on the fitting specification, operating temperature and application. Always confirm the manufacturer's pressure rating before installation.
