Description
Stainless Steel Reducing Socket – 316 Grade
Our 316 Stainless Steel Reducing Sockets are designed to connect two male threaded pipes or fittings of different nominal sizes. Manufactured from high-quality 316 grade stainless steel, these fittings offer excellent corrosion resistance, strength and durability for industrial, agricultural and commercial pipework applications.
Featuring female BSPP (British Standard Pipe Parallel) threads at both ends, these reducing sockets provide a durable connection between different pipe sizes, making them ideal for reducing threaded pipework connections.

BSP Thread Dimension Guide
BSP thread sizes are nominal and do not represent the actual physical diameter of the thread. The table below provides standard BSP thread major diameters in millimetres to assist with identifying the correct fitting size.
| BSP Thread Size | Major Diameter (mm) |
|---|---|
| 1/8" | 9.7 |
| 1/4" | 13.2 |
| 3/8" | 16.7 |
| 1/2" | 21.0 |
| 3/4" | 26.4 |
| 1" | 33.2 |
| 1 1/4" | 41.9 |
| 1 1/2" | 47.8 |
| 2" | 59.6 |
| 2 1/2" | 75.2 |
| 3" | 87.9 |
| 4" | 113.0 |
Important: The dimensions shown are standard BSP thread major diameters and are provided for reference. For female threaded fittings, these values correspond to the nominal major diameter of the matching male thread, not the internal bore measurement of the socket.
Installation Information
Ensure all mating threads are compatible, clean and correctly aligned before installation. BSPP threads are parallel and generally require an appropriate sealing arrangement to achieve a pressure-tight connection. Where used with compatible tapered male threads, follow the manufacturer's recommendations for suitable thread sealant and assembly.
Please Note: Class 150 is a fitting pressure classification and does not mean a fixed maximum working pressure of 150 PSI. Actual working pressure depends on the fitting specification, operating temperature and application. Always confirm the manufacturer's pressure rating before installation.
