Description
Stainless Steel Male Hose Tail – 316 Grade
Our 316 Stainless Steel Male Hose Tail Adaptors provide a reliable connection between flexible hose and female BSP threaded pipework, valves, pumps and other equipment.
Manufactured from high-quality 316 grade stainless steel, these hose tail fittings offer excellent corrosion resistance, strength and durability, making them suitable for industrial, agricultural, marine and general engineering applications.
Featuring a male BSP threaded connection at one end and a ribbed hose tail at the other, these fittings allow flexible hose to be connected to compatible threaded components. The ribbed hose tail helps retain the hose when secured using a suitable hose clip or clamp.

BSP Thread Dimension Guide
BSP thread sizes are nominal and do not represent the actual physical diameter of the thread. The table below provides standard BSP thread major diameters in millimetres to help identify the correct male threaded connection.
| BSP Thread Size | Major Diameter (mm) |
|---|---|
| 1/8" | 9.7 |
| 1/4" | 13.2 |
| 3/8" | 16.7 |
| 1/2" | 21.0 |
| 3/4" | 26.4 |
| 1" | 33.2 |
| 1 1/4" | 41.9 |
| 1 1/2" | 47.8 |
| 2" | 59.6 |
| 2 1/2" | 75.2 |
| 3" | 87.9 |
| 4" | 113.0 |
Important: The dimensions shown are standard BSP thread major diameters and are provided for reference. BSP thread sizes are nominal and do not correspond directly to the outside diameter of the hose tail.
Choosing the Correct Hose Tail Size
When selecting a stainless steel male hose tail, it is important to check both the BSP thread size and the internal diameter of the hose.
The BSP thread size identifies the threaded connection, while the hose tail size should be selected to suit the internal diameter of the flexible hose. These measurements are not necessarily the same.
Installation Information
Ensure the male BSP thread is compatible with the female threaded connection before installation. Use an appropriate sealing method for the thread type and application.
Push the flexible hose fully over the ribbed hose tail and secure it using a correctly sized hose clip or clamp suitable for the hose material and operating pressure.
Please Note: The maximum working pressure of the completed connection depends on the hose, hose tail, clamp and threaded connection. Always ensure all components are suitable for the intended application.
