Imperial PVC Union – Plain Socket x BSP Threaded
Our Imperial PVC Plain x BSP Threaded Union provides a reliable, removable connection between imperial PVC pressure pipework and male BSP threaded fittings, valves and equipment.
Designed for solvent weld installations, this PVC union features a plain socket connection on one end and a female BSP threaded connection on the other. The union design allows pipework to be easily disconnected for maintenance, inspection or replacement without cutting the pipe.
Ideal for water distribution, swimming pools, irrigation systems, industrial pipework and general PVC pressure applications.

Imperial PVC Pipe & Fitting Size Guide
Imperial PVC pipe and fittings are sized according to their nominal bore, rather than the actual outside diameter of the pipe.
The table below shows the corresponding outside diameter (OD) for each imperial pipe size. The plain socket end of the union is designed to accept the matching imperial PVC pipe diameter.

BSP Thread Size Guide
BSP (British Standard Pipe) thread sizes are nominal measurements and do not directly correspond to the actual thread diameter.
The following table provides the approximate outside thread diameters of male BSP fittings to help identify the correct threaded connection for your PVC union.

Installation Information
Ensure the imperial PVC pipe is clean, dry and correctly prepared before applying a suitable PVC solvent cement. Follow the cement manufacturer's instructions for application and curing times.
When connecting the female BSP thread to a male threaded fitting, use an appropriate thread sealing method compatible with PVC. Avoid excessive tightening, which may damage the plastic threads.
The union nut allows the connection to be separated for servicing without disturbing the solvent welded pipework.
