Description
Polypropylene Foot Valve with Hose Tail
The Polypropylene Foot Valve with Hose Tail is designed for installation at the inlet of suction hoses, helping to prevent water from flowing back into the source when a pump is switched off.
Manufactured from durable, corrosion-resistant polypropylene (PP), this non-return foot valve provides a practical and reliable solution for agricultural irrigation, water transfer and general pumping applications.
Featuring an integrated hose tail connection and a protective inlet strainer, the valve allows water to enter the suction line while helping to prevent larger debris from entering the pump. The internal non-return mechanism helps maintain water within the suction hose, reducing the need to re-prime the pump between operations.

- Agricultural irrigation systems
- Water transfer pumps
- Pond and reservoir water extraction
- Farm and horticultural pumping installations
- Surface water pumping systems
- General water suction hose assemblies
Installation Information
Install the foot valve at the submerged inlet end of a suitable suction hose, ensuring the hose is fully pushed onto the hose tail and secured with an appropriately sized hose clamp.
Position the valve below the minimum operating water level, keeping the strainer clear of sediment and debris. Ensure the valve is installed in the correct flow direction towards the pump.
All suction hose connections should be airtight to help maintain pump prime and prevent air entering the system.
Select a foot valve suitable for the internal diameter of the suction hose and the required pump flow rate. The inlet strainer should be inspected and cleaned regularly to prevent restrictions to water flow.
Foot valves are designed for suction applications. Confirm the valve's pressure, temperature and fluid compatibility before installation.
