Description
PVC Reducing Socket – Plain Imperial
SIZE GUIDE ↗Our Imperial PVC Reducing Sockets are manufactured from high-quality PVC-U and designed to connect two different sizes of imperial PVC pressure pipe. Featuring plain solvent weld socket connections at both ends, these fittings provide a secure, permanent and watertight connection when reducing pipe diameter.
Ideal for adapting between different pipe sizes in water distribution systems, swimming pools, irrigation installations and industrial pipework. Their compact design makes them suitable for both new installations and modifications to existing PVC pressure pipe systems.
Manufactured from corrosion-resistant PVC-U, these fittings are WRAS approved and suitable for potable drinking water applications.

Approvals & Standards
Imperial solvent weld PVC fittings are generally manufactured in accordance with EN 1452-3.
All fittings are WRAS approved and suitable for potable drinking water applications.
Pressure Rating
Imperial PVC solvent weld fittings in sizes 1/2" to 8" have a maximum working pressure rating of 15 bar (215 psi) at 20°C.
Note: Maximum operating pressure may reduce at elevated temperatures. Always ensure the fitting is suitable for the intended application.
Installation
Imperial PVC reducing sockets should be installed using a suitable PVC solvent cement and cleaner. Ensure the pipe ends and fitting sockets are clean, dry and correctly prepared before applying solvent cement.
Apply solvent cement in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions, insert the pipe fully into the socket and allow the joint to cure for the recommended period before pressurising the system.

Important: Imperial PVC fittings are manufactured to imperial dimensional standards and are not directly interchangeable with metric PVC fittings. The stated imperial size is a nominal pipe size and does not represent the actual outside diameter of the pipe. Always check the pipe outside diameter before ordering.
