PVC Metric x Imperial Adaptor Socket
The PVC Metric x Imperial Adaptor Socket is manufactured for connecting metric PVC pipe to imperial PVC pipe using solvent weld adhesive. It provides a simple and reliable transition between the two sizing systems, making it ideal for repairs, upgrades and new installations where both metric and imperial pipework are present.
Metric PVC Pipe Sizes
Metric PVC pipe is designated by its outside diameter (OD). The fitting socket is manufactured to suit the corresponding pipe outside diameter.

Imperial PVC Pipe Sizes
Imperial PVC pipe is sized by its nominal bore (NB) rather than its outside diameter. The adaptor socket is manufactured to fit the outside diameter of the matching imperial pipe.

Standards & Pressure Ratings
- Manufactured in accordance with EN 1452-3 where applicable.
- Threaded PVC fittings are manufactured to BS 21, DIN 2999 and ISO 7.
- Solvent weld fittings are rated to 15 bar (215 psi) at 20°C.
- Threaded fittings are rated to 12 bar (170 psi) at 20°C.
- Pressure ratings reduce as operating temperatures increase.
- Maximum recommended operating temperature: 60°C.
Installation
Ensure both the pipe and fitting are clean and dry before assembly. Apply a suitable PVC solvent cement evenly to both surfaces and push fully home with a slight twisting motion. Allow adequate curing time before testing or pressurising the system.
