Union Plain x Plain

Description

PVC plain unions are designed to join two PVC pipes together with the use of solvent weld cement.  The threaded union enables the assembly to be readily dismantled for the purposes of inspection or maintenance. No special tools are required.

Approvals

Solvent weld PVC fittings are generally manufactured in accordance with EN1452-3. 

Threaded PVC fittings are generally manufactured in accordance with BS21, DIN2999, ISO7.

All fittings have WRAS approval and are suitable for use with potable drinking water applications.

Pressure Rating

PVC solvent weld fittings (sizes 20mm to 110mm) have a pressure rating of 15 bar (215 psi) at 20^oC.

PVC threaded fittings (1/2" to 4") have a pressure rating of 12 bar (170 psi) at 20^oC

As temperature increases the pressure rating is reduced.  PVC systems should not be used where temperatures exceed 60^oC.

Sizing

Metric PVC pipe is sized by its outside diameter. For example 32mm and 63mm outside diameter pipes will be sized as 32mm and 63mm respectively.

The inside diameter of the socket end of the fitting will be the same as the outside diameter of the pipe.
