Hose Tail Adaptor Plain
Description
Hose tail adaptors are designed to convert one or more ends of a PVC plain socket fitting to a hose tail. The adaptor spigot is fitted using solvent weld cement. No special tools are required.
Approvals
Solvent weld PVC fittings are generally manufactured in accordance with EN1452-3.
Threaded PVC fittings are generally manufactured in accordance with BS21, DIN2999, ISO7.
All fittings have WRAS approval and are suitable for use with potable drinking water applications.
Pressure Rating
PVC solvent weld fittings (sizes 20mm to 110mm) have a pressure rating of 15 bar (215 psi) at 20oC.
PVC threaded fittings (1/2" to 4") have a pressure rating of 12 bar (170 psi) at 20oC
As temperature increases the pressure rating is reduced. PVC systems should not be used where temperatures exceed 60oC.
Sizing - Solvent Weld Pipe & Fittings
Metric PVC pipe is straightforward and is sized by its outside diameter. For example 32mm and 63mm pipes will have outside diameters of 32mm and 63mm respectively.
The inside diameter of the socket end of metric valves and fittings will be the same as the outside diameter of the corresponding pipe.
